Late Work

The rule

Late work earns half credit: half of what the missed part was worth, not half of the whole activity. A late reply costs you half of that one reply, and nothing else. Every late item goes in the Late Work folder, not by email, and I accept late work until the last day of the semester, when the course officially closes.

A late post

The activity forum stays closed to you until you post in it. You can’t see your classmates’ posts before then, so you can’t reply to them. So if you miss the post deadline, post anyway, as soon as you can. That opens the forum, and replies you make by the reply deadline count in full.

The late post itself earns half credit once you upload it to the Late Work folder as one file holding everything the post asked for. Both steps matter: the forum post lets you reply, and the upload is what gets graded as late work.

Late replies

After the reply deadline, a reply can still earn half credit in the Late Work folder. Copy the classmate’s post you’re answering into the file, then put your Reply 1, your Reply 2, or both beneath it.

This works only if you posted. If you never post, the forum stays closed to you and you can’t reply at all, on time or late.

A late Midterm Journal entry

A late entry earns half credit too. Upload it to the Late Work folder in either form the Midterm Journal allows, written or audio or video.

Files and names

Upload one file per item: a PDF or Word document, or an audio or video file. Late work earns credit only when it follows these instructions, so name each file the way the examples below do.

Keep the same name with an audio or video file and change only its ending: Activity 7 - Post.mp4, or Midterm Journal Entry.m4a.
