Accessibility

Last updated October 19, 2026

LexED2 is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 (opens in a new tab) at Level AA. That is the standard the Department of Justice’s 2024 rule under Title II of the ADA (opens in a new tab) sets for the web content of state and local governments, public colleges among them.

Each report is the full record of its audit: the scope, every finding and its fix, all 50 success criteria, and the method. In December 2026 every page on the site will be audited together, and this page will then give one date for the whole site.

How the audits work

  • Once a year, every page is audited in full. Automated checks run on every page, in both the light and dark themes. Then the parts the tools can’t see are tested by hand: the keyboard, zoom and text spacing, narrow screens, what each page reports to assistive technology, and the videos and files the pages carry.
  • Between audits, automated checks run on every page each week. A problem they find is fixed.

Known limitations

  • The self-check quizzes, the site search, and the email button on this page need JavaScript. You can complete every activity without them, and the rest of the site works without JavaScript.
  • After you answer a quiz question, the button you chose is disabled, and keyboard focus moves back to the page. Press Tab to go on to the next question.
  • Videos play in YouTube’s player. The AI & the Law audit checked each of its videos’ captions, and one video there shows corrected captions under the player because its own have errors. The welcome video on the home page and the Course Overview video on the course list don’t meet the standard yet and are being updated.
  • The audits inspect what each page reports to assistive technology, but they haven’t included a session with a screen reader.

Report a problem

If part of LexED2 doesn’t work with the way you read or navigate, email the site. Name the page and what went wrong, so it can be fixed.

If you need an accommodation in a course, ask your instructor or your school’s disability services office.
