Privacy
LexED2 has no accounts. It sets no tracking cookies, and nothing on it follows you to another site. The one measurement it runs is described under Hosting.
What loads from other sites
Almost nothing. The pages, their fonts, the search, and the quizzes all come from lexed2.com. Two things come from elsewhere: the page-speed script described under Hosting, which loads from static.cloudflareinsights.com, and video.
A page with a YouTube video shows a preview image first. On the home page, that image comes from lexed2.com; on every other page, your browser loads it from YouTube’s image server. The player itself loads only when you press play. It comes from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (opens in a new tab), which keeps what you watch here from personalizing your YouTube recommendations or the ads you see elsewhere. Once a video plays, Google’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab) governs it.
The one cookie
Some courses sit behind a password. When you sign in to one, the site sets a cookie that shows you entered the right password, so it doesn’t ask again on every page. The cookie holds no name, email, or other personal information, and no course without a password ever sets it.
An ordinary sign-in lasts until you close the browser, and 12 hours at most. If you check “Keep me signed in on this device,” the cookie lasts about four months.
What stays in your browser
Two things are saved in your own browser and never sent anywhere. One is whether you chose the light or dark theme. The other is your answers to the checkpoint quizzes in the readings, kept so a page refresh doesn’t erase them. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes both.
Hosting
Cloudflare hosts LexED2. Like any web host, it receives your IP address and basic browser details each time your browser asks for a page. Cloudflare’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab) explains what it does with that information.
Cloudflare also measures how fast the pages load, through a small script it adds to each page as it serves it. The script counts page views and load times. It sets no cookie and keeps no identifier that follows you from one visit to the next, so the numbers say how the site performs, not who read what. Cloudflare’s privacy policy governs it too.
Other sites the activities send you to
The activities link to court websites, government agencies, and AI chatbots. Those sites keep their own privacy policies. A link you share from an AI chat is often readable by anyone who has it, so read a chat over before you share it.
